Jossy Lownes has been a professional artist for the past 30 years. Painting and teaching currently occupy most of her time here in Rhode Island. Jossy says, “Education is so important to me! Having been a teacher for the last 30 years, I realize we all learn from each other.
My class is devoted to demonstrating each idea, and giving individual attention to each person. We cover all of the principles and design elements with a different emphasis each week.
My class is about helping people to “get to the next level” no matter where they are right now. I really enjoy sharing all I know about painting with all participants. I learn, too, from every student and other artists. It is an ongoing process for me which I enjoy!”
With a bachelor’s degree from Arizona State University and a Masters from the University of Illinois, Jossy has an amazing array of awards and accolades. She is a Juried member of the Providence Art Club.
Jossy welcomes visitors to enjoy the water view from her studio at 64 Church St., Warren, RI. This spacious studio is located in the picturesque East Bay historic district between Providence and Newport. Find Jossy on Facebook and on Instagram @jossylownes.
