Saturday Artist Demos At the Guild

Welcome to Saturday afternoons at the Guild, where art and community come together. Our programs highlight the talents of local and regional artists through inspiring live painting demonstrations and interactive events.  Thanks to the generous sponsorship of Clements’ Marketplace and the Town of Portsmouth, our programs are free and open to all. Light refreshments will be served, and seating is limited, so please register in advance. While admission is free, donations are encouraged and greatly appreciated to help us continue bringing high-quality cultural programming to our arts community.

Judy Vilmain

Judy Vilmain is a Psychologist and painter living in Providence, Rhode Island, and is an Exhibiting Artist Member of the Providence Art Club. Her work includes intimate outdoor scenes and still-life paintings.

“With the objects I choose, and the way in which I paint them, I’m trying to present a world that feels familiar, solid, and grounded, hopefully providing the viewer a quiet break from the chaos.”

Erica Driver

Erica Driver is a contemporary New England painter based in Little Compton, Rhode Island (USA). Working primarily on location to capture the essence of a place and reflect the spirit of its inhabitants, she creates vibrant, detailed paintings of gardens, greenhouses, landscapes and places where people live and work. She paints primarily with acrylic paint marker on wood panel, sometimes incorporating acrylic paint and ink.

Erica has exhibited her work nationally at galleries and museums including Jessica Hagen Fine Art + Design and Bristol Art Museum in Rhode Island, Butler Institute of American Art in Ohio, Attleboro Arts Museum in Massachusetts, the National Art Club Grand Gallery and Edward Hopper House Museum in New York, Customs House Museum in Tennessee, and the Meadows Gallery at University of Texas at Tyler. Her work is in private and public collections including the State of Rhode Island and the University of Texas at Tyler.
