Upcoming Workshops and Events

Paul Olson, Demystifying Oil Painting

Demystifying Oil Painting with Paul Olson

OCT 22, 29 | 9AM-12PM

Held on two Wednesday mornings. This workshop is designed to make the rich tradition of oil painting more approachable. In the first session we’ll cover core fundamentals of the medium. Participants will start a still life painting from direct observation, learning how to build form, value, and color directly on the canvas.

In the second session we’ll focus on the classic oil painting technique of glazing—the process of applying thin, transparent layers of paint over a dried surface to enrich color and create luminous depth. Participants will return to their still life paintings, continuing to develop them on the now-dry surface using this layered approach.

Northern Lights Felted Wool Painting with Wendy Anctil

Northern Lights Felted Wool Painting with Wendy Anctil

DEC 6 | 1PM-4PM

Create a magical painting of the Northern lights using wool and a felting needle. Learn proper felting needle handling and use, color blending techniques and more as you work on a small scale design.

All materials will be provided, but do bring reading glasses if you need them as we will be working up close and with a sharp instrument. Your finished work will be set in a frame for hanging.
