Figure Drawing from a Live Model

Beginning February 4th, Figure Drawing from a Live Model is moving to Tuesday evenings, and we now offer bundled class passes!

  • 1 class pass good for 30 days* – members $18, non-members $20
  • 4-class passes good for 60 days* – members $63, non-members $70
  • 9-class passes good for 100 days* – members $126, non-members $140

Join us on Tuesday evenings to draw or paint the human figure with whatever medium and materials you prefer. Come practice with us as we sketch the figure and learn to capture the essence of the human body’s musculature, gesture and posture.

Sessions are facilitated by our figure-model-whisperer, Erin Lobb Mason. She schedules our professional models, helps with timing poses, and occasionally teaches new models the finer points of figure modeling.  All sessions are in person at the Guild, drawing from a nude or lightly clothed model.

Table top easels are provided and attendees are welcome to bring their own standing easel. Materials are not provided. There is no instructor present.

Recommended materials include:

  • Newsprint, illustration or mixed media pads: 12×16, 18×24 or 24×36
  • Charcoal stick and/or graphite pencil
  • Pencil sharpener
  • Kneaded (gum) eraser
  • Cloth chamois

We encourage artists who attend to explore the use of different materials, drawing styles and techniques. Attendees must bring appropriate cleaning materials for their wet media.

*Expiration date is calculated from the first class you attend.
