Northern Lights Felted Wool Painting
Wendy Anctil
Create a magical painting of the Northern lights using wool and a felting needle. Learn proper felting needle handling and use, color blending techniques and more as you work on a small scale design.
All materials will be provided, but do bring reading glasses if you need them as we will be working up close and with a sharp instrument.
Your finished work will be set in a frame for hanging.
No experience necessary. Ages 12 through 15 with adult supervision, 16+ no supervision required.

Wendy Anctil
Wendy has been exploring fiber arts since 2019 and is mainly self-taught in the art of wool felting. She creates beautifully textured paintings and sculptures using wet and dry felting methods.
Wendy’s felted landscapes and felted wool sculptures have been featured at HeARTspot Art Center and Gallery in her home town of East Providence, and she won the People’s Choice Award at the Bristol Art Museum’s “Cold Snap” gallery show in November 2019. Wendy received second place in the Portsmouth Arts Guild’s “Imagine Fabric” show in August 2020 for her piece, “Pink Sky”, and the award of Work of Distinction from the juror for her art piece “First Frost” at the “Art for All Seasons” show at the Rogers Free Library in January 2024.
