Juried Prizes Slide Show

This exhibit was juried for prizes by Rick Grosvenor.  Please take a look at all the prize winners and juror’s comments.

Ist Place - Lisa Bliss, "An Apple a Day", Watercolor, $250

Juror’s Comments – This is a well executed composition.  I like that my eye is drawn down the fabric, around the plate.  Then the red pops against the blues.

2nd Place - Kathy Parker, "Slow Food", Pastels, $195 (SOLD)

Juror’s Comments – This is an imaginative, humorous, and well executed original reflection on the Edibles theme.

3rd Place - Kathy Tirrell, "Apple Pie", Oil, $450

Juror’s Comments – This is a very nice exercise in representing textures and lighting.  The glass bowl disappears and reappears in the folds of the towel.

Honorable Mention, Amy Bartlett Wright, "Summertime", Acrylic, $425

Juror’s Comments – Very painterly in execution with good attention to direct lighting, shading and reflected light and coloration.

Honorable Mention, Marc Jaffe, "Hot Doughnuts", Photography, $350

Juror’s Comments – I enjoyed the composition and the exuberance expressed by the characters.

Honorable Mention, Marco Vizcarra, "Composition of Fruits", Watercolor, $690

Juror’s Comments – Masterfully executed with nice variations in shading, light and coloration.  I liked the stacked images.

People's Choice Award, Debra Duggan, "Not to be Eaten", Watercolor, $150
